The mandatory two- year Collective Labor Agreement signed by the Panhellenic Federation of Catering and Tourism Workers with the Panhellenic Federation of Hoteliers foresees increase of 5.5% for 2023 and an additional 5% from January 1, 2024 onwards.

The new collective agreements providesfor the extension of the work arrangement on rest days (i.e.the ability to be called to work by the employer, if the need arises) from May 15 to October 15 (instead of June 1 to September 30 which was valid in the previous contract) based on the following:

 The hotel unit has more than 70% occupancy.

The employer has previously rehired the seasonal employees by May 15.

Also, the new wages apply to workers from staffing companies, who until now were paid the minimum wage.

The introductory new salaries of hotel staff from 1 January 2023 after the 5.5% increase are between 835 and 911 euros and then add: the 10% marriage allowance, the school allowance, nights, holidays and seniority.

The gross salary for a hotel employee with 10 years of experience is estimated at around 1,200 euros.
